The Vinayaka Missions University VMKV Engineering College at Salem 636308 INDIA pursues an ambitious research programme, encouraging original research both individually and collaboratively by systematic research work for the mutual benefit of the Individual and the Institution.  Research patronage, encouragement and guidance is offered even upto extended hours in the evenings for research discussions whenever difficulty is encountered in research work.  Faculty, Scholars and Staff are counselled to understand the importance of Research as an indispensable part of all activities in the realm of Education; their strengths on certain areas of their liking are identified through discussion and suitable areas for research is proposed. Students have been included in a minor way according to their abilities in ongoing research activities.  

Pursuit of research requires good Team Spirit and hence awareness is created by enlightening about various research models of reputed Research Institutions and by sharing credits of good work done among team members.  Faculty, Scholars and Staff have done well in indegenous research activities and collaborative ventures, with many publications of repute. Apart from pursuit of quality research, emphasis is also given on publication of research information.  Hence transparent online systems for research information and retrieval is established as a pioneering model in the whole world.  Since data is presented crisply, overall examination of different works can be done easily in a short time, which helps to provide a brief insight to Candidates seeking admissions to Vinayaka Missions University, Experts considering to join Vinayaka Missions University and Industries exploring ideas to Collaborate with Vinayaka Missions University.  Emphasis is given to the pursuit of research in ways that it would address day-to-day difficulties and provide solutions that can be implemented either as an Institutional Project or Funded Project instead of rolling out archivable proposals.  

To improve the quality of research, Mentoring System is introduced wherein a few Faculty, Scholars, Staff and Students are directly taught effective ways of doing good research accompanied by imparting to them the fine techniques of Journal Paper Refereeing and the concentrations required to be applied in improving manuscript presentation.  These mentored Faculty, Scholars and Staff then train others.  Stress is laid on peer-peer research interactions to aid growth in the research field and also to bring about a change in attitude aiding collaborative team growth.  Foundations for peer-peer research interactions are laid out by spreading awareness of effective utilization of Membership in Professional Organizations and organization of strategically significant Conferences by networking with Industries, which provides an effective forum for the exchange of technical knowledge across a diverse cross-section of core and interdisciplinary interests.  

Further, Faculty, scholars, Staff and Students are appraised the realistic situations in the Research Field and the ways to stand strong and grow in the Research Field, also helping the Institution grow in expanse and quality, directly reflecting on elevation of quality of the footprints of all educational activities and helping to evolve students capable of competing fairly with their peers from all over the world resulting in professional careers that contribute in all areas of Technology.
